Out of the top 100 Regeneration Projects 2010 listed by Regeneration and Renewal magazine in association with Scott Wilson last week, TCM have been working on 7 of the top 15.
Since 2007, we have been working on the Olympic Park Site (listed no 1), eradicating Japanese knotweed, giant hogweed and Himalayan balsam from the site to help prepare it for construction. TCM were the second contractors to start work on the site and are still heavily involved in the eradication of Japanese knotweed, membrane installation, ecological works and site surveying. TCM is also involved in landscaping projects and has now agreed terms to help supervise work outside the park that is to be regenerated for the 2012 Olympic Games.
TCM’s second largest project to date is the continued work on land adjacent to Wembley Stadium (listed no 5); again dealing with Japanese knotweed eradication. This was our first large soil screening project and the site has subsequently been surveyed, tested approved and by RPS who confirm that all knotweed has been eradicated.
We have also been dealing with Japanese knotweed on the Greenwich Peninsula, Canning Town and Custom House, Clyde Gateway, Elephant & Castle and Stratford City sites.
All works are covered by a fully comprehensive warranty and have been rigorously monitored by the appointed managing consultants to ensure effectiveness and to meet development timescales.
Howard Downer, managing director, says: “Our appointment as specialists in invasive weed eradication and control on these projects has hinged on our reputation for practically and effectively achieving the required results, working within the schedules required but without taking shortcuts. This has meant that our customers have had absolute confidence in our ability to deliver. Well done to all of our teams involved”.
