On 1st July 2010, Howard Downer, the managing director of TCM decided to resign the position of Managing Director and move up into the position of Chairman, Howard has worked tirelessly at the forefront of the business since its inception in 2000 and now feels that it is time to leave the day to day management to the executive team he has left behind. In his role as Chairman, Howard will be able to service the number of high level clients he has developed, whilst still offering input and guidance to the company.
Nick Hartley, has moved up into the position of Managing Director from his position as Sales Director. In addition to driving the sales of the business forward, Nick has spent the last 2 years setting up and developing UK Wetlands, an associated company which specialises in the field of aquatic remediation and regeneration. In a role reversal Nick will be resigning his role as Managing Director of UK Wetlands to be succeeded by Howard.
Howard says:
“I am very proud of what we as a company has achieved over the years. We have established ourselves as the leading invasive weed specialists in the UK. I feel that the ecology side to the business has achieved a good reputation and we are now at a time when the upturn is starting to show in the development and construction world. Nick has a brilliant understanding of the invasive weed and ecology market and will bring new enthusiasm to take it to the next level. I will still remain involved in the business and of course always be available to look after a number of the key clients who have helped position us where we are. I am also very excited about developing UK Wetlands as I feel this is a new and fascinating market.”
Nick says:
“Since joining the business in 2004 I have seen it grow and prosper despite what have been challenging times, I have also seen the enthusiasm from Howard and the rest of the team which has helped keep us in the position we are today, as the market leading Invasive Weed specialists in the UK. Knowing the drive and determination that comes from all of the team members I can only be positive about what I think is going to be an exciting time for the business. Howard moves up with our full respect and thanks for all the hard work he has put in over the last 10 years. We still look forward to his input and hope to grow the business on the sound platform he leaves behind.”
